TNT gets NHL’s copyright of US $225 million every year, and will share the event broadcast with ESPN in the next seven years

According to sportico, Turner sports has become the NHL broadcaster and will broadcast NHL jerseys online events with ESPN in the next seven years, with an annual copyright fee of US $225 million.

According to the agreement, Turner sports will get the right to broadcast part of the regular season, winter classic, half of the playoffs and three rounds of the Stanley Cup finals in the next seven years, which will be broadcast on TNT.

ESPN became NHL’s Broadcasting partner in March and won the rights to broadcast 25 regular season games (including the opening and all star games), one round of regional finals and four rounds of Stanley Cup finals in the next seven years.

It also marks the end of the 16 year long media partnership between NHL and NBC. In sportico’s report, NBC made a final offer last week, but the price was still lower than its rivals, and then withdrew from the bidding. NBC has been NHL’s exclusive TV broadcaster since the 2005-06 season. During this period, NBC cooperated with NHL to launch Winter Classic and outdoor series.
